The Death of Coral - Bleached White

The Death of Coral - Bleached White

This year, as my eyesight has further reduced, I have been creating art by touch rather than sight. One of the mediums I use is foam clay which retains it's tactile details when dry. The whiteness of the clay reminded me of the bleaching of coral when it dies due to sea temperature increases.  A huge amount of my art and poetry over the years has raised awareness of climate change and so this theme felt like coming home.

This is the second piece in the series;  “The Death of Coral: Bleached White” is created in white it depicts Agaricia Agaricites coral.

Originally exhibited at the Reading Guild of Artists Summer Exhibition 2026, this piece is presented in a white frame measuring 30cm*20cm.
