Below are all the poems I wrote in November 2025 with some of the paintings which accompanied them. You can find all the paintings at this link…
In temple smoke the angel bright
Did speak a word of pure delight.
To Zachariah meek and old
A promise of a son foretold
But doubt arose within his breast
"She can’t conceive she’s past her best"
The angel said, though quite forlorn
"Your speech is bound until he's born"
Through months of silence waiting long
He could not speak or sing a song
Then John was born, a baby new
And Zacharias spoke anew
With voice released his praise began
Blessing woman, child and man
The muted tongue now spoke in grace
To honour God in every place
"Praise be to God," he sang with glee
"A child to love, a legacy.”
From silence came his song divine
His faith now bright as stars that shine
Perhaps this was a gift of love
To be closer to our God above
I know that when I wait and hear
God sits close by drawing me near
...

If only ... The world was accessible
If only .... I could recover energy
If only.... Generosity would overcome greed
If only.... Promises were never broken
If only.... Poetry changed people's perceptions
...
Rebirthing the truth
I have a Kintsugi heart
You are the gold thread
Weaving through all creation
Inspiring peace in pieces
...
The river of tears carries away fears
Let sticks race rivers as we rest
...
Soft whispers bloom truth
Secrets shared on gentle winds
Sigh into silence
Ethereal sighs
Message magical whispers
Of the crescent moon
...
My dreams consist of rivers wide
Where our worries gently glide
Of silent forests deeply green
Where friendly animals are seen
Of golden stars and hopeful prayers
Eradicating all despair
...
Distance is transient
Hearts still find a common beat
Closer than we know
...

Laughter tastes like cinnamon
Warm and sweet upon the tongue
A happy joy that rushes in
Full of hope where fear once hung
It bubbles up from deep inside
Starting quietly, soft and low
Then bursts in joy, a happy tide
Spreading cheer wherever you go
Laughter brings a fragrant spark
Filling life with golden light
It brings a sweetness to the dark
Brightening memories through the night
...
Riven in troubles
Hushed in anticipation
Dreaming of sunshine
...
Whispers between two
Heartbeats beating together
Harmoniously
...
Changes calibrate
Clearly coloured citrine skies
Crossed paths calmly close
...
Thinking truthfully
Toiling through troubles trusting
Twisted turbulence
...
Strong in my weakness
Held up by your arms
Robust in my fear
Comforted by your love
Tough in my frailty
Empowered by your strength
Resilient in the darkness
Led by your light
...
When stillness gently cradles life
Relaxation slowly erases tension
Replacing fears with new found hope
Eradicating apprehension
..
When stillness cradles life
Fears unfurl like leaves in spring
Hope blooms softly on every breath
As long held whispers learn to sing
Relaxation flows free like water
Tension erasing murky mist
Acceptance builds unknown confidence
As peace descends where love exists

Psalm 8 Sonnet:
O glorious Lord God Your majesty we sing
In heavens high Your works astound the night
The moon and stars such beautiful grace they bring
A whispered awe and heavenly delight
How blessed we are with love that never fades
You are our watchful guide in all that we face
You crown us close to angels in light and shade
We are rich in our hearts following your loving pace
We are called in kindness to tend the earth we share
With beasts that roam and birds that grace the sky
In every creature Your perfect love is laid bare
The care of life is our task to comply
With grateful hearts we need to take our stand
To guard Your world and nurture every land
Psalm 8 haiku:
You placed moon and stars
Inspired life in everything
We are tasked to care
Psalm 8: free form poem
As I look at nature I am amazed at the beauty, astounded by the complexity, in awe of patterns Fibonacci and vibrational energy. I don't try to understand complex chemistry, physics or biology, instead I see a taste of the heavenly because the Earth is holy
I feel connection to God through the leaves and the waves, find confirmation of God's call on us to care and save, not to choose to abuse, not to greedily consume but to help the world bloom
I go back to my Bible to read the story of creation, not to pose scientific questions, but to make the essential connection from story to reality of a spark at the start
Over millennia of evolution God has watched as creation, has developed in harmony into a complex web of beauty. Until along came humanity, meant to be guardians of beauty, but instead we became greedy. Rampaging without thought about the planet that supports us, developing too quickly in a race for power and money, for domination of nation and nature and space.
We can not win this race, because what we are facing is our own eradication, watched in sadness and grief by the God of creation. What must he be thinking? It's time for us to stop "planning and thinking" we must start acting, changing, reducing, repairing and actually caring.
...
Planetary belonging is temporary and yet eternal
..
Remembering peace
Fought for every single day
A gift earned in blood
We must not ever forget
Compromise is essential
...
Snow drifts hush the dawn
Weaving promises with dreams
Frosty friendships thaw
...
Looking back on recent times I'm filled with thanks and praise
For a month of almosts which shadows overlaid
Of what might have been but never came to be
Of all that what was feared but was held in love and peace
Of almost giving up but safely pulling through
Remembering that anxiety isn't often true
Taking one thing at a time finding blessings on the way
Is easier said than done but I try again each day
...
Remember the light when the days are dark
The hope and joy when times lose spark
Let faith be your guide
Remember the light when the days are dark
Though storms may rage and dreams seem stark
Let love be your guide
Remember the light when the days are dark
Each flicker shines with a radiant spark
Let hope be your guide
Remember the light when the days are dark
Let gentle whispers fly like a lark
Let light be your guide
Remember the light when the days are dark
When the path is lost and leaves no mark
Let peace be your guide
...
Crisp leaves softly fall
Relics of an amber sky
November's embrace
...
November days are closing in
Obscuring sight each early night
Vibrations are slowing down
Escalating energy reduction
My mind struggles to find the light
Balanced scales of summer start to tip lower
Ever slower, heavier, quieter, darker, cozier
Resting in reflection at a time of hibernation
...
Jesus tell me
When you walked on water, did it hurt?
Did the waves cut into your heels?
Did the salt sting?
How many shells tossed and turned abrasively across your toes?
Was the sand gritty or did it smooth your soles clean?
Did you float or were you upheld?
Did the waves support you or did you have to stand up to them to calm them?
I only ask
Because life is stormy right now
With waves crashing upon the rocks on which I rest
And it's tempting to step out in my own strength
Yet in no strength
So instead I'm dreaming of floating
Whilst thinking about your walking
Taming the waves
Inspiring the fearful
Inviting the faithful
And wondering if I could ever be faithful enough
To step upon the waves without your hand in mine
Oh how thankful I am that I never have to face that time
Because wherever we are, you are there
Stepping out to save on each and every wave
Prayerful reverberations rippling across the oceans
...
Someone should tell you
That stress can create a mess
And self preservation can cause exhaustion
That caring can be wearing
And joy can annoy
That resting can be testing
And melancholy can be holy
That whatever your lived reality
You are always good enough for me
…
Dear friend
When you show me poems or paintings
"Created" with ai
I know you expect me to be impressed
But instead I want to cry
You see it makes me feel sad
That you think I write and paint for the outcome
For the goal of generating
But I don't!
I create because I love to create
And the outcome
The poem or the painting
If it happens to be worth sharing
Is actually a happy accident
A heartfelt creation born from the celebration
Of time dreaming, writing, painting and creating
…
Hurting hearts should cry
Baby release captive tears
Refreshing your soul
Refreshing your soul
Sharing your truth vulnerably
Precious lessons last
.
Tears fall fast like winter rain
A little face so full of pain
"It's not fair!" the cry rings out
A tiny world turned all about
As time goes by the tears dry fast
The lesson learned is built to last
That scrapes and falls and little hurts
Can help us grow through times adverse
Let tears flow don't hold them tight
Knowing sun will bring the light
That crying's not a baby's plea
Tears can heal so set them free
...
Forgotten voices
Linger. Longing for lost love
Unspoken whispers
Soften silent memories
Blessings echo without words
...

Orion the hunter bold in the night
With a buckle of stars that sparkle so bright
Across the dark canvas he shimmers with grace
Guiding lost wanderers across time and space
His shimmering jewels are a cosmic delight
Illuminating dreams chasing shadows from sight
In the silence of darkness his story unfolds
Courage and strength in starlight is told
...

Frost and flames frequent
Great Pyramids of Giza
Morning noon and night
Attracting adventurers
Honouring ancient Pharaohs
...
I knew nothing but shadows and their dance
In twilight's hour they whispered sweet and low
I trusted as they spun a fleeting chance
Yet depth and truth were cloaked in twilight's glow
The echoes held my heart in silent chains
A world adorned in shades of fleeting grey
Here light glowed a stranger full of stains
And dreams that danced were far too shy to stay
But time unveiled the colours masked by night
The shadows bowed before the blazing sun
Whilst clarity emerged as wondrous light
I learned that hope and love are never done
From shadows dark new visions rise and gleam
No longer trapped within a dimming dream
...
Wishing well chances
Bloom transcendently with hope
As starlight dances
As starlight dances
Whispers of dreams take to flight
Attracting glances
...
My pain is an inside job
I'm attacked every hour of every day
In a myriad of hurtful ways
By cells that are meant to keep illness at bay
They swirl and they fight in a silent spree
Battles raged deep down inside me
While I wear a smile and mask so bright
Inside I'm struggling lost in the night
If only they'd listen, those actors within
To the whispers of hurt where the shadows begin
But I press on through all the ache and the strife
For persistence is part of this journey of life
Or for those without the energy or capacity to read all that....
My pain is an inside job
As my cells hurt themselves
...
Spinning thoughts once caught
In a squalling carousel
Remain unspoken
...
Every day I think maybe
Sleep will bless me in it's depth tonight
But every morning without reverie I greet you
Exhausted and broken despite all power of will
Oh insomnia, why are you so determined to stay?
...
Rain soaked skin shivers
Heartbeat drums a rapid song
Love warms wild hearts
...
When you loved rage
Your heart burned red in your chest
Whilst anger flared out of control
Our love twisted on a bitter vine
On the edge of destruction
With no hope of construction
But then the storm burned itself out
The lightening cooled and calmed
As we cultivated fresh growth
Peace has now made it's home in your soul
Quietening thunder before eruption
As hope celebrates in colourful explosions
...
Wander hopefully
Imagining life improves
Turn by timely turn
Accepting loss whilst finding
Peace above understanding
...
Wild darkening nights
Whispers rise in smoky swirls
Stars blink with secrets
Tales forgotten over time
Reignite around campfires
...
Cocooned in the hush of night
I drift away on cobalt waves in peace
Lifted from the embers of pain
Supported by pillows of gossamer fleece
My mind dances with inklings of change
Yet in my marrow I dare not dream of release
...

Even when you're merely a smudge
On the periphery of my subconscious
Your presence never causes me to flinch
You journey near with light and warmth
Bringing a gentle glow on the darkest nights
With whispers of comfort soft and low
You meet my mind in the quiet place
Chasing away any startle and woe
Bringing me pure compassion and hope
...
Drifting through the haze
Messy battles fill the air
Peace waits lost and frail
Peace waits lost and frail
As echoes searching for home
Whisper of chaos
...
Shattered promises
Recycled as life lessons
New hope emerges
...
Allow yourself to relax and rest
Finding comfort in simply being
Fall backwards with the season
Rejecting demands to do everything
Whilst the leaves turn and days slow
Embrace the quiet and find your peace
In gentle whispers let your worries go
As stillness lets your heart release
...
Tripping over pain
Playing pacing trick or treat
Knotted up again
...
Dying flowers in the vase
Bring memories of generosity
Whilst reminding us that our scars
Are central in nature's beauty
In life we don't lose hours
No matter what their quality
Each day deserves flowers
In thanks for their quantity
...
Watching the moon rise
Opalescent orb of awe
Commanding the waves
...

Dark graceful wings fly
Among crows, ravens soar high
Nighttime mastery
...
Airborne bangs crack dreams
Effervescing frenetically gifting hyper illuminations
Jumping kicking lifting maniacally
Never obviously procrastinating
Quickly resting
Simultaneously testing underground variabilities
eXcellent yells zip!
...
Ever Persistent
Despite daily challenges
Just watering weeds
Trusting that flowers will bloom
If I still myself each day
