Here you can read all the poems I wrote in 2025 accompanied by some of the paintings created. This month I have been spending time playing, experimenting and creating with clay and it's tactile nature which means there was a lot less digital art but still a lot of poetry.
Soporific songs
Serenely stifle starlight
Silhouetting storms
...
Reality is increasingly disjointed
Causing emotions to be contorted
How we long to be transported
From being endlessly disappointed
By the powers that we appointed
As they unravel life despite being unsupported
Unravelling life
Discarding messy falsehoods
Celebrating truth
...
In stillness I discover my curiosity
I quietly observe the natural world
Where rest and refreshment are essential
And creativity is part of everyday
That is the perfect way
...
Debating patience
Whilst the world declares despair
Taking time to heal
...
Cwtch me
Never let me go again
...
Forsaking sense we push through pain until we scream out loud
...

Fragrant florals
Radiate resilience
Adapting aromatically
Nuancing Nicaragua
Gorgeously gnarly
Intoxification
Pink plumeria
Advance agreeably
Nightly notating
Imagination
...
The soul of a robin is eternal yet youthful
Dancing on each new glimpse of dawn
Leading the chorus in songs ever tuneful
Balancing life lines carefully drawn
Whispering messages deeply truthful
Then singing out gentle lives withdrawn
...
A little bird, a flash of red
The spirit bright through years sped
Each morning's light, inspire a leap
Secrets known, the heart does keep
A gentle song, a whispered word
For every sorrow that is heard
Till joy erupts, a happy tune
Soothing mourners beneath the moon
...
Fairytales destroy
Opportunities to dream
Of equality
...
Reminiscence flies
In the face of destruction
Learning old lessons
Learning old lessons
Preparing for better days
Joining together
Joining together
Creating light in the dark
Optimistically
Optimistically
Bringing fresh change hopefully
Moon eyes tearfully
Water ideas joyfully
Cheering for humanity
...
Whisper on the wind
Summoning bright May flowers
When you need me, call
...

Humanity cares
Despite opposite actions
I'll hold onto hope
I'll hold onto hope
Though distant thunder echoes
Warning of fresh storms
We will prepare without fear
Because humanity cares
...
Fireflies flutter
Furiously freeing fire
Fantastic freedom
...
As the eclipse ends
Bright light blinds the unaware
Hope overcomes hell
...
Punctuated equilibrium, the rise and fall of life
Reinforcing faithful continuance whether we are strong or weak
Alleluias rise in quiet whispers and loud proclamations
Yielding hearts and minds into a position of trust
Earnestly and energetically we join in praise
Receiving the holy spirit anew each and every day
...
Yearning for shadow
Places beyond gazing eyes
Discovering peace
...
As heat elevates
Backseat drivers sing and shout
Dissonance delays
Perfecting progressively
Despite imperfect progress
...
Sun burns my skin
Air tastes like ash
World feels so thin
Life reduced to a dash
Buildings all broken
Familiar faces gone
Words left unspoken
Just endless bleak dawn
What would be left?
Just hunger and fear
No joy, all bereft
Year after sad year
No thank you, I say
This ending feels kind
Better fade away
Than live in the world left behind
...
A jumble of noise and tangled pain
Accompanied by hums of aching sighs
Facing the end of dust and acid rain
I don't choose that path under burning skies
Dark futures loom with shadows we can't flee
A broken land where shadows darkly creep
No hope remains, no solace waiting for me
Just barren earth where withered seeds still sleep
The final scene, a stage I dread to tread
A hollow echo where love songs once played
To see it all, the living and the dead
My spirit whispers, leave me where I'm slayed
So no, I do not seek any post apocalyptic fight
This world is enough, I'll go out with the light
...
World falling apart
Can't move, don't want to live it
Let it all end now
...
Do I want to survive the apocalypse
I can't think of anything worse than this
No chance I can cope without any power
Don't want to get burned by a fallout shower
I'd rather go down in a ball of flames
At least I won't have to face injustice again
I'd love my last memory on this Earth
To be flowers and love not horror and dearth
...
Counting my blessings
Observing flowers in bloom
I will not forget
...
Planting hopefulness
Encouraging faithful growth
Waiting for flowers
...
Embers of truth burn
At stakes of power and greed
Ignite compassion
...
My God whose light and grace shine ever bright
Stills my soul, where others tell me lies
With vast unending love you guide my flight
I see you mirrored in the great wide skies
No end is found to love now taken hold
A constant stream that rises in my core
A story whispered, always to be told
Felt and known, through all my days and more
You are the space where all my being thrives
The endless depth where true belonging starts
Through all my days your energy arrives
And fills the chambers of my trusting heart
In Earthly space you invite us to reside
Your love is true and will always abide
...
Every breath of love now smothered
...
She screamed, her truth still unspoken
...
In silence she lost her voice
...
Those who can not see
Are outcast by those who can
True friends step within
...
Darkness drains depth
Light lanterns lift leaden loads
Breathing breathlessly
(Collom Lune poem)
...
Sight silently slips into sorrowful shadows
...
Whimsical sunlight
Glints at the edge of vision
Etched in silver gilt
Shadows darken canvases
Rainbow celebrations dance
...
Is it mind over matter
Determinedly trying to walk
Even though I keep falling down
I can't advocate that thought
So how about matter over mind
Accepting the bodily limitations
Finding a way to love myself
Despite the affectations
I reckon that, in reality
It's more like mind with matter
Though I do mind that the matter's broken
It mostly matters that the mind is kind
...
With serpents in my hair
I gaze upon your stoney face
Why do you stare?
...
Weeping skies flood minds
Sadness pours into pure souls
Tears heal broken hearts
Lost inside a heartfelt dream
Nightmares are washed clean with hope
...
The page held its breath... Humorous lines tickled the tongue
New hope now begun
...
A quiet warmth, a gentle hum
Not made of bread, nor fruit, or rum
It fills you up, though has no taste
Warming the heart, no time to waste
A loving word, a friendly smile
Makes spirits bright for quite a while
A song you love, a story told
Worth more than silver, more than gold
If feeling down when skies are grey
This food will chase the clouds away
Helping you flourish, stretch and grow
The sweetest gift you'll ever know
....
Discovering solace by the sea
Enjoying the sunset reverie
All summer long healing cathartically
Looking forward to wintery apricity
...
Unravel my heart
Uncover jewels in the dirt
Unwinding my pain
...
Resting my eyes
From the glare of the sun
The sun dips low, the day finally done
Closing the book, the story slides
Resting my eyes
There's nothing to hide
The screen fades to grey
Quiet hours slip away
Resting my eyes
A peaceful calm descends on all I cannot see
…
Homeland: a place where love isn't limited
...
The page held its breath... Praying to be understood
Hopefully
...
Darkening heat
The cost of complacency
Opalescent truth
Hiding behind dwindled dawn
Hazey days blazing with tears

...
Maybe life wasn't ever meant to be a straight line
Maybe we were falsely promised that we were in control
Maybe we were meant to learn about letting go
Maybe faith and love are more important than effort and success
Maybe others are something in me that I'll never spot in myself
Maybe everyone feels they could do more
Maybe everyone is fighting daily struggles
Maybe life is all about the mountains and valleys and not the destination
Maybe slowing down and being is a gift
Maybe I'll look back on days of pain and fatigue with thanks
Maybe, just maybe, today is the best day to live today
...
Gold glimmers
Where light pierces the darkness
..
Midnight memories
Dance across my inner sight
Delightful rainbows
...
Darkness is falling
Obscuring rainbow colours
Beyond my sight
...
I am merely me
Doing as well as can be
Everyone else is themselves
No one sat on the shelves
The thing that I can't understand
Is why we compare where we stand
The best thing about humanity is our separate identity
You are you, I am me, individually
