Pentecost

In breathless quiet gathered hearts align

As God unfurls a radiant embrace

A rushing wind from heaven divine

Descends to fill each corner of this space

From skies above a firestorm cascades

With tongues of light landing on every head

No longer shadows of the past evade

Transformed by flames where holy spirit spreads

Each voice erupts in languages anew

A vibrant chorus echoing divine

The stranger’s ear catches what they knew

Unified souls through sacred design

In wonderstruck eyes and joyful cries

The world hears God's love unravel ties

Sonnet to the Trinity, the Eternal Mystery

God we call you Father strong and true

In morning light where love’s first whispers start

With every breath of sunrise fresh and new

We seek your light that dances in our heart

Jesus walks beside in gentle peace

Through trials faced with courage hand in hands

In storms of doubt and sorrow's sweet release

You guide us onward through the troubled lands

Within us breathes the Spirit’s sacred flame

A whispered truth that stirs our very soul

Though languages may falter in Your name

Your goodness reaches out making us whole

The trinity is love and grace for all

As it was then and shall be ever more

Mountains rise like sentinels in disguise

Guardians of time holding dreams we embrace

From roots that burrow deep in fertile ground

To oceans' depths where secrets softly dwell

Life flourishes in harmony profound

Each pulse and rhythm casting a timeless spell

The sun kissed blooms arise with morning's cheer

In forests dense where shadows dance and play

Creatures great and small draw close without fear

A symphony on natural display

We must honour Earth with every choice we make

For the path we're on is not quite far too late

As the first whispers of spring softly stir the air

Emerald buds speak life into the lawn

These colours dance brightly without compare

Whilst butterflies emerge as if reborn

They flutter back and forth in colours of every hue

Transfixed by sunlight’s golden beauty

Their painted wings breaking free from all they once knew

Transforming shadows with their clarity

As summer days swell growing longer in sunlight

These winged beauties glide like laughter on the breeze

Modelling transformation in every flight

Supported by the warmth from hearts they unfreeze

Then as autumn settles and leaves bestow their grace

An Ode to Music’s Embrace

In shadows deep where melodies arise

I wander through music playing all around

From rock’s wild pulse that breaks the quiet skies

To bluesy whispers in their emotional sound

Classical symphonies brush my soul with grace

Each note a story spun from strings of gold

Jazz dances slyly in its swift embrace

With rhythms rich and tales forever bold

Dance music lights the night with beats alive

While pop's bright colours splash across the air

But nothing stirs my heart quite like the vibes

When my daughter's double bass is played with care

Each day resounds with music pure and true

In every genre's notes love blooms anew

Are germinated and birthed

Love is a rainbow where grief and grace entwine

Gently echoing the truth my heart has always known

I cremate my memories polishing until they shine

As the last ember of hope is claimed as my own

With pens in hand I map a world of ache

Each stroke painted with tears that fall like rain

In this canvas of sorrow new colours awake

Love is life and so through loss we remain

Being human means to embrace every feeling

Hearts may fracture but continue to pulse bold

Through shadows we linger with beauty revealing

Life’s brilliance emerging where love is long told

Let grief and grace walk side by side anew

For every goodbye fades into something true

We dance within the bounds of norms confined

Together fighting for our rightful rise

Yet still we wear a mask that’s ill designed

I walk between the lines of who I am

A spectrum drawn from secrets deep and bright

Imaginary self a gentle sham

Where hues unite to challenge endless night

Let colours blaze in beauty's pure embrace

A solemn plea to break these chains wrought tight

Come forth now we’ll find our special place

In solidarity igniting light

As sweet as rain on thirsty earth can be

With lives unmasked together we are free

The seaglass shines a whisper from the deep

A relic birthed from ocean’s lapping veil

Echoes of summer wrapped in memories steep

Each shard reflects a moment's fleeting grace

Honeyed hues caught in salt's embrace

Lost beneath the azure expanse I chase

A siren’s call that wraps my heart lace

As silvered waves parade their stories bold

I sink into the depths with open mind

Midsummer melancholy gently unfolds

Where restless waters cradle what I find

For in this sanctuary of ebb and flow

I am reborn in shades of blue that glow

On azure canvases they dart and sway

A ballet danced beneath the sun’s bright pulse

The sky a brilliant sheet of endless dreams

Where hues of sapphire cover all we know

Reflections shimmer softly at the seams

Upon the sea where calm tides ebb and flow

These fleeting forms paint stories none can hold

They drift on currents warm as evening's glow

Each moment crafted in softly silken gold

An artwork born from air and sea below

For light shall dance till twilight’s tender birth

Gazing upon the horizon I dream of escape

Where whispers of wind weave tales untold

The sun sinks low as a golden drape

Over seas that shimmer with secrets bold

Beyond my sight the sky and water meet

As waves draw patterns upon the ground

I find pure peace on this seaside seat

Each wash underscoring nature's sound

Distant calls of birds remind me shrill

That their flight is poetry painted on air

Each wind's gust ignites a restless thrill

I long to follow without fear or care

As I sit watching nature's endless expanse

I plan to rejoin the sea's eternal dance

Just trying to survive

As we tame the beast

Of chronic illnesses

Running wild and free

Around our worn out bodies

I found pieces of myself

Never loved enough

I hugged that tiny child tight

Loving her back together

Even when knocked down

I'm still here holding the line

Lighting the darkness

Survival

An everyday blessing

Every day

I was wondering the other day

About that gilded golden heavenly stairway

Will it have a stair lift?

Or will I be able to levitate

As I approach that pearly gate?

I'm doom scrolling

To distract myself from the sense of impending doom

Instead of watching the doom filled news

Or reading tales of doomed dreams

It distracts me from the doom like pain

That is ravaging my doomed body

Humid wakeful nights

Banish energetic dreams

Gilding slower days

"Beyond the Border"

The front door stands an ever present guard

A border crossing protecting safety

Separating fear and disregard

From the ever present reality of frailty

Inside these walls the silence sustains peace

Painting worlds with vibrant strokes of thought

My words dance free twirling with deep relief

Transporting dreams through lines that time forgot

Every verse traverses boundless skies

Bridges form beneath my fingers’ flight

Collective hearts online echo with sighs

Connecting souls adrift in shared twilight

Though borders bind this body to repose

In art's embrace I wander where love grows

A single seed of joy sown in the earth

With gentle breath it finds a fertile land

As whispers beckon forth a brighter birth

Unseen the ripples spread from one small deed

A lift of spirits with a simple smile

The tiniest actions nurture hope’s sweet seed

Plant your kindness in this world so bold

And trust that every act will swell and rise

For change can start no matter what we're told

Though paths may curve and we may lose the sign

Ego driven leaders

Make dangerous decisions daily

Always ready to listen without jumping to conclusions

Teller of tales around the dining table

Heartily laughing at shared memories

Exceedingly steady hand to guide when needed

Rooting the family deep as an ancient oak

When the world fills us with fear

Focus in on Hope

Whispers in the vastness with hope's endless pulse

A space cowgirl’s heart dances on starlit winds

Through a sky of dreams where aspirations flow

I see Saturn's rings like promises spun bright

In this gravity rush that spins us away so far

Venus heals me beneath dark shadows' light

With your hand in mine we observe each new star

A shuttle to reality laced with desire

Where the cosmos cradles all our wishes new

Our stars knew the routes where we'd aspire

Love is our compass as night drifts into blue

Among galaxies we swirl our fate entwined

Together we soar through dimensions unconfined

No monochrome days

Midday sun descends with warmth in veils

Weight of longing rests upon our brows

Yet in this embrace of life's uncertainty

As my mind skips bloom to bloom on restless feet

Flitting between what was and maybe could be

Delicate trails spin dreams as yet unspun

In this wild maze hope lives beyond what we see

Sunlight filters soft through paths undone

I follow the butterfly through the fading sunlight

The chase inspiring my plans for life's next flight

But it won't let go, it will remain

So much worldwide trouble I need to share

Peace can not come too soon

The lunar light invites souls to commune

To reveal the most fragile layer

In the deep where I found myself longing for metamorphosis

I discovered wings to lift me from the shadowy cage

Yet when I emerged saturated in a new days kiss

The burdens of yesterday turned to sighs on a page

Absent angels sailed down my heart's quiet stream

Their whispers drifting like blossom on warm air

All cares were released in a delicate dream
