I have been a member of ArtServe for quite a few years after finding the organisation online. ArtServe is a "movement of people discovering and reflecting God’s creative gifts shared among us, so that God is known more fully and lives are transformed". If you are a creative Christian then I highly recommend joining ArtServe and being part of a fabulous community.
Last year my colouring book "Natures Blessings" was reviewed in the ArtServe magazine and they also invited me to share a poem and painting in the magazine. I sent in Psalm 71 and then chose this waterfall painting. Excuse the awful photo, did I mention I'm blind?

A few months later I was asked by the editor of ArtServe if I would like to write an article about my ministry and creativity. Despite not feeling like I had a lot to say I said yes, and a few weeks later I had written far too many words - none of my editors are surprised by this!
Thankfully Judith is a wonderful editor and she carefully and faithfully edited down my waffle to this beautiful double page spread which also includes some of my paintings and poems.

"ArtServe member Emma Major is a poet, artist and lay pioneer minister in the CofE. She's also a blind wheelchair user living with chronic illnesses, which has a huge impact on the way she experiences life, ministry and creativity. She writes about her own 'journey of hope'."

I won't share the actual text in the magazine because it is the copyright of ArtServe.
So why am I sharing it?
Because it's good to record these moments in time
I want to spread the word about ArtServe
As a reminder to myself and you, that when you are invited to do something, say yes.
