Architecture of Reading

Decades evolving Architectural presence Building community

Really thrilled with how this series of eight paintings celebrating the architecture of Reading through the years has turned out. Reading Abbey Ruins Reading Minster Church of St Mary the Virgin Reading Town Hall The Hexagon Broad Street Mall Reading's Last Gas Tower Reading Train Station Christchurch Bridge It has been wonderful to bring together my love of drawing structures with "colouring them in" as Mike refers to the hours and hours of bringing them to life with colour. I've also painted an abstract planet for each place, a representation of how each of these places "feels" to me. I wonder what each of these abstract paintings communicates to you, how they make you feel.

There is all sorts of symbolism within these abstract paintings building on 25 years living in Reading.
